Young defender, Ryan Inniss has returned to the Eagles today after picking up an injury whilst out on loan at League Two side Port Vale on Saturday in their clash against Coventry.
The 19-year-old was stretched off the pitch with an ankle injury at the Ricoh Arena in the first half and went straight to hospital where he underwent an x-ray. The results showed that defender hadn’t suffered a break in his ankle as a result of a challenge he went into with Marcus Tudgay. Further tests will be required over the coming days to find out the full extent of the injury.
Inniss made five appearances during his loan spell and impressed manager Rob Page as well as fans at Vale Park, despite picking up a yellow card in each of the five games that saw four wins and a defeat. Speaking to Port Vale’s website following the news, the Valiants manager said: “We’re really disappointed, not only because he has been forced to return to his parent club but for Ryan as a player and as a person.
“He has been a breath of fresh air since he arrived and has played extremely well for us. It’s a shame as we had almost finalized a deal to extend his stay at the club.
“Everyone at the club would like to thank him for his contribution and wishes him a speedy recovery.”
