Crystal Palace and Australia captain Mile Jedinak has been called up to the Socceroos’ squad for their international games against Germany and Macedonia at the end of the month.
The 30-year-old has missed a number of games since returning from his last stint on international duty with Australia at the Asia Cup due to an ankle injury he picked up in this first game of the tournament where he also scored a penalty. That injury forced him out of a number of games for his country but continued to play despite the injury in the latter stages of the tournament, leading his side to victory in the tournament.
Australia face Germany at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion on March 25th before travelling to Macedonia on Monday 30th March. The Australia skipper is the second most capped player in the team with Tim Cahill currently holding 26 more caps to his name and not surprisingly 32 more goals with Jedinak only managing to find the net on seven occasions for his nation.
Jedinak is currently serving a four-match domestic ban after elbowing Diafra Sakho in the Eagles’ 3-1 win over West Ham at the end of last month, leading to his suspension which was served to him by the Football Association after the match referee missed the incident that occurred towards
