Tony Pulis has backed Alan Pardew to be England’s next manager, once Roy Hodgson leaves the post.
West Brom take on Crystal Palace tomorrow lunchtime, and Pulis believes his counterpart should be considered for the national job.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Pulis said:
Knowing Roy [Hodgson] he will want to do the Euros and the next World Cup, but if you’re looking for the next England manager, Pardew’s got to be looked at. He would definitely come into the frame for me.
Pulis commended Pardew’s work at Palace, where he’s overseen somewhat of a revitalisation project.

The Eagles finished in 10th place last campaign and have begun well this – taking 12 points so far.
Pulis was quick to also praise Pardew for his work at other clubs and not just the good work he’s doing at Crystal Palace.
He’s done very well everywhere he’s been. He’s done a fantastic job at Newcastle and I don’t think he got the credit he deserved.
Whether this is mind games by Pulis or genuine respect is unclear, but if The FA are looking for an English manager to again take the reins, they’d be hard pushed to find a better performing one currently.
