Chelsea could recall Bamford in January
Chelsea are reportedly becoming concerned over the lack of playing time that youngster Patrick Bamford is currently getting at Crystal Palace.
The England U21 international left Chelsea on a season-long loan but has hardly featured at his temporary club.
Bamford has only started one game so far at Palace; the Capital One Cup tie against League One side Shrewsbury Town in August. He’s hardly featured in the Premier League, and with the South London club performing so well, his chances of getting into the side look slim.
Reportedly, Bamford, who featured prominently for Middlesborough last season, has a clause in his loan deal that means Palace will have to pay a larger fee if he doesn’t play often, but that’s not led to him seeing enough game time to satisfy Chelsea.
The loan agreement also allows the deal to be ended prematurely in January, and if Bamford don’t start seeing more action, it’s possible that Chelsea will recall him.
