Former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor is linked with a move to Crystal Palace as they look to strengthen their attack. The Palace strikers have only scored one goal between them this season and haven’t scored in the last four games.
The 31 year old Togo international was let go by Spurs in September and has been a free agent since. The January transfer window is the ideal time for someone to make a move for him and with SkyBet giving odds of him going to Palace at 1/5 with Watford being the next on the list at 8/1. It seems that Selhurst Park is the most likely destination for him.
Adebayor has certainly showed in the past that he has the quality required with 96 goals in 230 appearances, in his decade at the top league of English Football. However, he hasn’t played this season and he may take a few games to get up to speed if indeed he does at all. Certainly, Palace need a prolific scorer which Adebayor is when he’s in form but at 31 is he going to be as sharp as he was before?
