Chelsea are considering a move to bring Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann to Stamford Bridge, according to Steve Stammers of The Mirror.

The report indicates that the Blues are eyeing up the former Blackburn Rovers man as a potential replacement for club captain John Terry, whose contract expires at the end of this season.

Stammers also reports that while Chelsea could double Dann’s £60,000-a-week wages, the defender has a good relationship with Alan Pardew and would be reluctant to make a move.

Furthermore, the 27-year-old is all but guaranteed a starting role at Palace, and that would not be the case at Chelsea, who even if Terry leaves, will still have the likes of Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma competing for the centre-back places.

If such a move did happen, it would most likely be in the summer although Palace would demand a huge fee for Dann as he has only recently signed a five-year contract extension.
