Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann has told the Croydon Advertiser that he would welcome the signing of free agent Emmanuel Adebayor amid interest that Alan Pardew has taken an interest in the Togo forward.
The 31-year-old has been the subject of heavy interest from a range of clubs in recent weeks, with fellow Premier League rivals Aston Villa interested in signing the forward but being potentially restricted by the former Tottenham and Man City striker’s wages.
He is a quality striker and I am sure if he does come to the club he will do a good job. I am sure whoever comes into the club, whether it is Adebayor or somebody else, in this squad they will always fit in. I know there has been stuff said about him in the past but I am sure he is a good lad. And if he does come to the club he will do a good job.
Adebayor’s goal record for various clubs across Europe is nothing short of exceptional for a striker whose chances have been limited throughout the years and a move to Palace could be the next chapter of the Togo international’s journeyman-styled career.
Goals have been hard to come by for the Eagles’ striking options so far this season, with the attacking duo of Connor Wickham and Dwight Gayle leaving plenty to be desired up top, so a move for a player with Adebayor’s prestige and credentials would not be a bad choice whatsoever.
