Crystal Palace have been in a slump in the Premier League since Christmas, but their form in the FA Cup has not suffered at all.

They’ve defeated three Premier League sides; Southampton, Stoke and Tottenham, to set up a quarter-final tie against Championship side Reading.

Although Palace have been in free-fall in the league, they are still nine points above the drop zone with nine games to go, so they should just about be safe. Reading are 14th in the Championship and also nine points above the drop zone, whilst also being 12 points from the playoffs.

Therefore, it’s fair to say that the FA Cup provides both clubs the chance to keep their season’s alive and give the fans a trip to Wembley.

Palace have Jason Puncheon back fit for selection, but strike duo Connor Wickham and Marouane Chamakh are set to miss the game with injuries.
