Crystal Palace make bid for defender
Crystal Palace have made a £5m bid for Brighton & Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk, according to a report from the Mirror.
It makes sense for Palace to be looking for new defensive recruits after Adrian Mariappa, Brede Hangeland and Paddy McCarthy were all released from the club.
Despite making a bid for Dunk, it seems as if Palace will have to stump up more cash if they want to get their man.
Brighton are apparently asking for £10million for the 24-year-old and with teams such as Everton also interested in signing him, they’ll be in no rush to accept a £5million bid from the Eagles.
Dunk is rated my most fans and pundits as one of the best centre-backs in the Championship and he would be a good signing for Palace if they could take him from their rivals.
According to the report, Wolves’ Kortney Hause and Reading’s Jake Cooper are also on Alan Pardew’s list of possible targets.
