Benteke deal halts Saido Berahino interest
Crystal Palace’s £32m move for Christian Benteke could mean that Alan Pardew’s reported interest in Saido Berahino is ended.
Berahino had been touted with a move to Selhurst Park, however, with the acquisition of the Villa man, Palace have seemingly got their man, meaning a deal for Berahino is off the table.
Palace have reportedly had interest in the striker, who has been unsettled at the Hawthorns since the arrival of ex-Palace boss Tony Pulis. He has struggled for game time, and only netted four times last season after having a breakout season the year before.
The club recieved big offers for the England U-21 international, with a £20 million bid rejected only last month from Palace, and another other rejected from Stoke.
Therefore, it looks like Berahino will stay at Albion until the expiration of his contract in the Summer. When it expires, he is free to leave on a free transfer.
