Palace planning surprise Sakho move
Crystal Palace are plotting a shock loan move for unwanted Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho, according to the Croydon Advertiser.
Sakho has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield after the arrivals of Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan and it is understood that Jurgen Klopp is willing to allow the Frenchman to leave the club on loan.
Palace manager Alan Pardew is desperately trying to recruit new players for his squad, who have won just two league games in 2016, and the Croydon Advertiser also writes that the former Newcastle boss is in the market for “two or three” new players.
The Eagles have struggled defensively in recent months and Pardew believes that Sakho is the answer to his problems. Palace will, however, face competition from fellow Premier League club Stoke to sign the French international on loan for the season.
If Sakho were to join Palace, he would join former teammate Christian Benteke, who moved to Selhurst Park in a club-record £32m move last week.
