Crystal Palace have joined fellow Premier League sides Middlesbrough and West Brom in declaring an interest in Queens Park Rangers midfielder Massimo Luongo, according to a report from SBS, an outlet in his native Australia.

The 24-year-old has been in very good form for QPR this season but he is keen to play in the top flight and it’s looking highly unlikely that Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s men will be fighting for promotion this season, so he’ll have to make a move if he wants to be playing in the Premier League.

According to the report, the three sides have all shown interest in Luongo but none of them have made an offer as of yet.

The Australian international is a deep-lying playmaker and if he did arrive at Selhurst Park, it would surely mean one of Palace’s current centre midfielders moving on as there’s already somewhat of a surplus in the squad.

Luongo will have just one and a half seasons left on his contract when the January window opens and whilst he is reportedly happy at QPR, any bids could test his patience and also tempt Rangers int selling while his value is still high.
