The Eagles remain hopeful of signing Leicester City player Jeffery Schlupp and hope to continue negotiations with the club, despite a bid being rejected on Monday by the club.

According to Sky Sources, Crystal Palace are hoping to agree a fee soon with Leicester for Schlupp with a bid worth £9.5million being rejected on Monday for the player.

Leicester are looking to keep to the asking price for Schlupp, despite the lack of appearances made by the winger this season. He has only featured on nine occasions in all competitions for the Premier League champions, failing to make a full 90 minutes.

West Brom had three bids rejected for the 24-year-old in the summer, with all of those bids also understood to be under the asking price. Championship side Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the winger.

Sam Allardyce is keen to make Schlupp his first signing at Crystal Palace since joining the club after the departure of Alan Pardew who was sacked before the January transfer window.
