Crystal Palace are in advanced talks to sign Leicester City full-back, Jeffrey Schlupp.
As reported by the Telegraph, it appears that Sam Allardyce and Crystal Palace have won the race to sign the defender for £12 million, who was widely expected to leave the club this month.
Palace, Aston Villa and West Brom were all thought to be interested in the Premier League winner, who has failed to break into Leicester City’s starting XI over the last two seasons.
The proposed deal is expected to be completed within the next 24 hours. Palace had seen a £9.5 million bid rejected for the player, but an improved £12 million bid proved enough for the Premier League champions to part with Schlupp.
Schlupp had reportedly made his intentions to leave the King Power Stadium very clear to manager Claudio Ranieri, who often preferred Austrian Christian Fuchs at left-back.
The Ghanian has only made four Premier League appearances this season as Leicester struggle to mount a title defence.
