Crystal Palace make enquiry about Tottenham defender
Crystal Palace have made an enquiry to Tottenham Hotspur about the availability of defender Ben Davies, as per a report from Simon Jones of The Mail.
According to the report, Palace were willing to pay around £10million to sign the Welsh international but Spurs, reluctant to let any of their players go as they look to make a push for the Premier League title, have apparently said they’d only consider offers of double that amount.
Whilst the 23-year-old isn’t a regular in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, he does provide excellent cover at both full-back and centre-back and with Spurs about to re-start their European campaign in the Europa League, it makes sense for them to keep hold of as many of their good players as possible.
Davies himself is said to be open to a move as he’d like to be a regular starter somewhere but it looks like he might have to wait until the summer to find another club as it’s highly unlikely that Palace would be willing to pay £20million to get him.
