Crystal Palace face some competition for the signing of Gabriel Obertan.
Reports surfaced yesterday that Sam Allardyce was interested in signing the 27-year-old winger this month following his release from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.
The former France U21 international moved to English football in 2009 when Manchester United shelled out £3.4m to sign him from Bordeaux but after two poor years with United, scoring just once in 27 appearances, he made a £2.9m move to Newcastle.
In five seasons with Newcastle, Obertan made 77 appearances, scoring on three occasions prior to his release in May 2016. In August, he made the move to Russia with Anzhi on a one-year deal but after just half a season he was released.
While Palace are said to be keen on offering Obertan a contract, they face competition from Polish side Legia Warsaw, according to Przegladsportowy.
Obertan can play on either wing and as a secondary striker which offers Palace some great cover in a number of positions.
