Jordan Mutch has expressed his wishes of remaining at the Madejski Stadium beyond his current loan spell, with the midfielder excited about what is going on at Reading.

The 25-year-old has featured for the Royals on two occasions since joining the Championship side on loan, on transfer deadline day, scoring on his debut in a 2-2 draw with Ipswich.

Speaking to the Reading Chronicle, Mutch has been talking about his desire of staying at Reading after being encouraged about where the club is going, with promotion also on the cards for Jaap Stam’s side.

He told the Chronicle: “The manager was a big influence in me coming here. I met with Brian (Tevreden) on a few occasions and I was really excited about what they were doing here.

“I had seen Reading play before this season, I was really excited about the way they play and it was a place that I wanted to come to.”

He also went on to say: “I would definitely like to remain here beyond the end of the season, of course we will take it as it goes for now and see where we are at at the end of the season.

“Lots can change between now and then but I wouldn’t have come if I didn’t see myself staying here.”
