Steve Mandanda could be set to re-join Marseille, just a season after leaving the French club to join Crystal Palace, according to reports in France.
FootMercato claims that initial talks have taken place between both the player and the French side over the past few weeks, with the two parties agreeing to a three-year contract which could be extended into a fourth year.
Crystal Palace could still remain an obstacle for the deal if they are unwilling towards letting the French goalkeeper leave the club, after signing for the club in the Summer transfer window.
The goalkeeper had been at the top Palace’s goalkeeper pecking order after signing for the club under Pardew, but picked up an injury in November with the Frenchman only having returned to training recently.
However, Sam Allardyce is now in-charge of the South London club and in Mandanda’s absence, Wayne Hennessey has taken the number one spot and doesn’t look to be moving from it in the near future.
