Crystal Palace eyeing up move for Celtic defender
Crystal Palace are interested in making a move for Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic, according to a report in the Croydon Advertiser.
Simunovic, 22, played a major role in Celtic’s domestic treble this season and it is understood that Palace will need to bid in the region of £10million for Celtic to consider to sell the defender.
The Croatian International, who played in Celtic’s 2-1 victory over Aberdeen in the Cup final, scored one goal in the Scottish League this season.
The young defender joined Celtic from Dinamo Zagreb in August 2015 and has been heavily involved in the first-team since his arrival, especially under Brendan Rodgers.
His impressive form has led to interest from various European clubs who are monitoring the centre-back’s progress.
Italian club Torino tried to sign him last summer, but Palace are thought to be the front-runners in this transfer window.
The Daily Mail is also reporting that rival Premier League clubs Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion are considering a move for the defender, so Palace need to act quickly before another team submits a bid.
