Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on free agent Bacary Sagna after the full-back was released by Manchester City, according to a report by the Daily Star.
Sagna, 34, seems like he will be staying in the Premier League after Palace showed their interest in bringing him to Selhurst Park.
However, a number of other clubs are reported to be interested in signing him too, so Palace have to act quickly if they are to secure his signature.
Fellow Premier League clubs Southampton and Newcastle are hopeful of signing Sagna, whilst relegated Hull City are also monitoring any developments.
Sagna’s former club Arsenal are also rumoured to be interested in re-signing the Frenchman, but with Arsene Wenger now preferring his new formation with three central defenders and two wing-backs, it seems unlikely.
The French defender is hugely experienced in the Premier League and would be a brilliant addition to the Palace squad. The defender was deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium under Spaniard Pep Guardiola, who is looking to rebuild his side.
Palace are still managerless after the shock departure of Sam Allardyce and are looking for a manager for the long-term, according to Chairman Steve Parish.
