Premier League club Crystal Palace and Championship side Leeds United are battling for the signature of highly rated Livingston striker Matthew Knox, as the London club prepare to submit a bid, according to a report on HITC.
The 17-year-old has made his name over the last year through breaking into the starting side at Livingston which has gained interest from many clubs.
Starting matches at the age of just 17 is not easy, so the fact that Knox is a regular starter shows his ability and talent.
The forward has previously trained with Manchester United and Rangers and the young Scotsman has a huge summer ahead of him with many clubs trying to sign him.
Nottingham Forest were in pole position to sign the youngster but talks slowed down, which allowed Palace to enter the picture and show their interest.
The youngster could be lured to Selhurst Park over the fact that Palace can offer Premier League football, although the youngster may probably not feature in the campaign.
However, Palace boss Frank de Boer has experience with nurturing young talents as he did with Ajax for many years. The youngster will have more first team opportunities with Leeds or Reading, but we are yet to see who the highly-rated striker chooses.
