According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have opened talks with Spanish giants Barcelona to discuss the signing of goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.
Cillessen is not the first choice at Barcelona as he is currently behind Marc Andre Ter Stegen and the Holland international, who only made 10 appearances for The Catalan last season, will probably want first team football considering the World Cup is just around the corner.
Crystal Palace are currently in the market for a new goalkeeper as after the sale of Steve Mandanda back to Marseille they only have Wayne Hennessey and Julian Speroni and Cillessen would be an upgrade.
If this move goes through then Cillessen will link up with his fellow countryman Frank De Boer and maybe Jairo Riedewald if that deal does go through and all of these three mentioned have worked together at Ajax.
PSV ‘keeper and another Dutchman, Jeron Zoet, is on Frank De Boer’s list of potential goalkeepers that he could bring into Selhurst Park for the 2017/18 season but Cillessen is on the top of that list.
Current Palace number one, Wayne Hennessey seems to have very bad luck when it comes to conceding amazing goals such as Andy Carroll’s bicycle kick and Olivier Giroud’s scorpion kick being the most recent, so would a change of goalkeeper bring a change of luck to Crystal Palace?
