Everton pull out of Riedewald race
According to De Telegraaf, as quoted by Sport Witness, Crystal Palace will sign Jairo Riedewald in the next 24 hours, as Everton manager Ronald Koeman will prefer other options.
Riedewald will be Crystal Palace’s second signing this summer and this week, after they announced on Wednesday that they signed Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a season long loan.
The Ajax defender, who can also play in defensive midfield, will be joining fellow countryman Frank De Boer at Palace for his debut season at Selhurst Park and Riedewald could be a huge boost for him as he tries to better Palace’s 14th place finish last campaign.
Dutch manager Ronald Koeman was keen to bring Riedewald to his club Everton in the last few days, but he will seek other options.
This may mean he isn’t done with his transfer business this summer, even though he’s already brought in six new players, including Riedewald’s ex-Ajax teammate Davy Klaassen.
It was reported in January that Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing the versatile 20-year-old but he decided to stay put at Ajax.
