Crystal Palace have identified out of favour Arsenal defender Calum Chambers as a target this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Jim White.

The England Under-21 international spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, but couldn’t do enough to help keep them afloat in the top flight. Despite this though, he impressed on several occasions and showed that he does have the quality to succeed in the Premier League.

Chambers has not enjoyed the success that was expected of him upon his £16m move to Arsenal from Southampton in the summer of 2014, but is a player with undoubted ability and potential.

Frank de Boer appears to be keen on lowering the average age of his Palace squad and the addition of Chambers would certainly help to achieve that.

However, it’s unlikely that the Eagles would be willing to part with £20m to land Chambers.
