West Brom are reportedly interested in making a move for Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward.

According to a report from the Mirror, the former Portsmouth defender’s contract negotiations with the club have reached a dead end, and it looks as though he has rejected a new four-year deal.

The right-back has been a key part of Palace’s side for a long time now, but with Frank de Boer at the helm, it looks as though a change in style is set to be implemented, which could result in an exit for Ward.

West Brom are seriously lacking in terms of full-backs ahead of the upcoming season, which kicks off this weekend, and it looks as though they are keeping tabs on Ward’s situation at Selhurst Park.

The 27-year-old has always impressed since his arrival in South London in 2012, and Palace will be keen to keep hold of their key players at this stage of the window.
