Crystal Palace have received a boost today, with defender Pape Souare taking to Twitter to confirm that he is now match fit.
Twitter: 1 year today I was in a life changing accident that could have ended my career, today I am officially match fit! All Praise to God #Faith (@papesouare)
The full-back has been out of contention for a year now, as he mentions, off the back of a devastating car accident, which saw him suffer severe injuries to his jaw and leg.
There were genuine concerns that Souare would be unable to play competitive football again following the crash, but it looks as though his hard work and perseverance has paid off.
Souare will be keen to impress the new manager when he arrives at Selhurst Park, with Frank de Boer having been relieved of his duties at the helm of the club on Monday morning.
Former England manager Roy Hodgson is the man expected to take the reins in South London, and he will be boosted by the availability of Souare.
