Crystal Palace want to sign Islam Slimani from Leicester City in January, according to Algerian news outlet Le Buteur.
The ex-Sporting CP striker has not yet had a great impact on English football. Following a superb stint out in Portugal, expectations were high for the powerful forward, but he has flattered to deceive since his big-money move.
Leicester have a new manager in Claude Puel, and he tends to stray away from utilising target men as strikers, raising concerns that Slimani’s future at the King Power Stadium is under added scrutiny.

Palace were linked with Slimani in the summer transfer window and, if Le Buteur are to be believed, want to make a January move for the Algerian international.
Roy Hodgson is currently setting his Palace side out with no recognised striker, with Christian Benteke ruled out for the foreseeable future with ligament damage.
It looks as though a striker will be at the top of the Eagles’ agenda in January, and Slimani appears to be a target.
The report adds that Watford and Rennes are keen on the forward.
