Crystal Palace were unfortunate to have come away from their clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon with nothing to show for their efforts.
The hosts came away with an unconvincing 1-0 win thanks to a well-taken drive from Heung-min Son on the edge of the box, following a poor clearance from Yohan Cabaye.
However, chances were hardly at a premium for Roy Hodgson’s men. Spurs debutant Paulo Gazzaniga kept his side in the game on a number of occasions and was named as the man of the match, and perhaps deservedly so.
Wilfried Zaha had Palace’s best chance of the match, as he rounded Gazzaniga before striking wide with the goal gaping.
It was a frustrating afternoon for the Eagles, but one that optimism can be drawn from.
