Agent confirms Benteke’s commitment to Palace
Christian Benteke’s agent Kismet Eris has confirmed that his client remains fully committed to the cause at Crystal Palace.
Eris discusses the Belgian forward’s future with Sport Witness, and spoke of how Benteke feels that it is the most sensible decision to stay at Selhurst Park for the duration of the season at least.
Benteke has been in terrible form for Palace this season and reached a new low last Saturday, as he grabbed a last minute penalty from Luka Milivojevic’s grasp only to see it saved by Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. This miss cost Palace an important, additional two points.
Eris has claimed, however, that Benteke has unwavering commitment to helping Palace this season, and spoke of his client’s ambitions to represent Belgium at the World Cup in the summer.
Christian told me before the beginning of the season that, whatever happened, he would stay at Crystal Palace because of his preparation for the World Cup, but also to provide stability for his family, and so on.
We had several opportunities to leave, but his decision since the end of the last campaign was to stay at Palace. Christian hasn’t shown or told me anything that suggests he wants to leave. Nothing will happen until the end of the season. He wants to stay until then minimum, and then we will see.
Benteke will be desperate to make amends for his shortcomings against Bournemouth, as Palace face Leicester City away from home on Saturday.
