Everton linked with January move for Benteke
Christian Benteke has become the latest Crystal Palace player to be linked with a January move to Everton.
The Mirror reports that the former England boss will look into the possibility of signing the striker who he worked with closely during his time at Palace.
Allardyce reportedly sees Benteke as a viable option to ease the goalscoring burden on the club’s other attacking players following the sale of Romelu Lukaku over the summer.
Benteke has not been firing on cylinders this season, having only just scored his first goal of the campaign.
The Palace forward broke his duck for the season in an impressive 3-0 away win at Leicester on Saturday.
However, Allardyce has been told he may need to sell before signing in the new year after the club splashed the cash under Ronald Koeman during the summer transfer window.
Wayne Rooney is Everton’s current leading goalscorer in the Premier League with nine goals, but the Toffees have struggled in front of goal this season.
