Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon has been charged with assault and possession of an offensive weapon, according to Sky Sports.

Puncheon was arrested in the early of Sunday morning, having been at a nightclub in Surrey the night before.
He was involved in an altercation outside of the club, where he was subsequently arrested for assault and possession of a weapon.
He has now been charged for his crimes, with further details of his sentencing to come. He has been released on bail, with his trial to take place in January.
Puncheon has captained Premier League side Crystal Palace this season, with the club likely to make a statement in the coming days.
The 31-year-old has played over 100 games for Crystal Palace since his move from Southampton in 2013, scoring 16 goals in the process.
