Crystal Palace make enquiry for De Maio
Crystal Palace are reportedly keen to land Sebastien De Maio from Bologna.
According to a report from the printed edition of Italian news outlet Corriere di Bologna, as covered by Sport Witness, the Eagles have made an enquiry over the availability of the experienced central defender.
Recent reports have stated that Stoke City are also keen on the Frenchman but new claims in Italy believe that Palace have joined the race for De Maio.
The 30-year-old has not enjoyed a great deal of success in Calcio A so far this season. Although he has been strong when called upon, he has played only 11 times for Bologna and reports state that he would be open to moving on.
De Maio signed for Bologna in the summer from Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht for a sum worth approximately £1.8 million, yet it seems a move could already be on the cards.
Palace’s defensive depth has been tested in recent weeks with Mamadou Sakho and Scott Dann both currently unavailable, meaning a move for De Maio would hardly be surprising.
