Palace make contact with Copenhagen over Swedish goalkeeper
Crystal Palace have made contact with Danish champions FC Copenhagen over a potential move for goalkeeper Robin Olsen, according to Swedish outlet Expressen.
Despite Palace having improved drastically since Roy Hodgson’s appointment, the Eagles are in need of further strengthening in the January window.
Crystal palace were bottom of the table without a point when the former England manager took over, and now the club sit in 12th place in the Premier League – although they are just five points ahead of the relegation zone.
Hodgson has seen a goalkeeper as a key area that needs improving, and Expressen reports that Palace have identified Olsen as a potential target.
Copenhagen boss Stale Solbakken is prepared to sell the 28-year old Sweden international, but he would prefer to wait until the summer to sell him. However, a tempting offer from the Eagles may tempt The Lions into selling this month.
Neither Wayne Hennessey or club stalwart Julian Sperini have been able to make the number one spot their own this season, so Hodgson will be hoping to soon conclude a deal for a new shot-stopper.
Getafe’s Vicente Guaita is another possible option.
