The midfielder only joined the Portuguese side earlier this month when his deal with Swedish club Malmo expired.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson is eager to strengthen his injury-hit squad this month and will be hoping that Rakip is the first of many additions to his side.
Hodgson said earlier in the month that he would like at least four new arrivals in this transfer window. Rakip can play in central midfield as well as wide on the right hand side and is well known for his dribbling.
Hodgson had been keeping a close eye on the midfielder for some time and even asked his former club Malmo to provide some intel on the player.
The 21-year-old has featured 11 times for the Sweden under-21 side and has managed to find the back of the net once for his country.
The midfielder likes to get forward and has an eye for goal, as he got his name on the scoresheet eight times for Malmo earlier in the season.
The Eagles are 13th in the table and Hodgson will be hoping that Rakip can help his side avoid relegation this season.
