McArthur heaps praise on teammate Zaha
James McArhur has spoken about his Crystal Palace teammate Wilfried Zaha and has praised the Ivorian for his performances for the Eagles this season under Roy Hodgson, as per The Mail Online.
Zaha scored twice in the weekend’s M23 Derby against Brighton & Hove Albion in a thrilling 3-2 Palace win at Selhurst Park, edging Zaha and Palace closer to safety in the Premier League for the 2018/19 season.
He played as a centre forward against the Seagulls on Saturday, who he also scored a brace against in the Championship Play-Off semi-finals of 2013, which saw the Eagles promoted.
Zaha is currently on seven goals for the campaign, one off his personal best in a red and blue shirt, when he got eight in the promotion season of 2012/13.
Zaha’s current £110,000 per week contract keeps him at Selhurst Park for four more years, which teammate James McArthur is very happy about.
The Scot said in a recent interview (via The Mail Online):
I felt for the Brighton defenders because when he’s on his game he’s one of the best in the league.
What I would say is I would be scared to play against him every week. In my opinion there’s not too many players in the league that you fear playing against.
To have him in our team is a big asset.
