Christian Benteke has admitted that his chances of appearing in Belgium’s World Cup squad are now thin following his traumatic campaign at Selhurst Park, as per The Mirror.
Benteke has scored just two goals in 28 appearances, despite being a regular starter up-front under Roy Hodgson.
To get into the Belgian squad, he will have to compete against the likes of attackers such as Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard, Dries Mertens and Divock Origi.

Palace have three games left to play in the Premier League, sitting six points clear of Southampton in the relegation zone, giving Benteke three more chances to convince Roberto Martinez that he should be part of his squad.
Benteke said:
In the past I have had just one opportunity on the match and I scored.
This year, I feel more involved in the game, I make more effort but I’m not rewarded. I do not say it’s the fault of others, I’m clumsy, lack of lucidity, lack of success too. But I will work.
If I had to miss [the World Cup], it would hurt me but I would recover.
