Crystal Palace are reportedly lining up a summer swoop for Everton midfielder James McCarthy.
The Eagles are reported by the Daily Mail to have identified the Republic of Ireland international as a potential target ahead of the summer, with Roy Hodgson keen to strengthen his side’s midfield options.
It’s stated by the Mail that the Toffees are willing to listen to offers for McCarthy, who has endured yet another injury-plagued season at Goodison Park.

The 27-year-old was dealt a cruel blow midway through January, as he sustained a double leg fracture in Everton’s home game against West Brom earlier on in the season.
However, it seems as though his recovery is progressing well and interest is building ahead of the summer transfer window. It’s claimed that McCarthy is already ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation.
Crystal Palace are already well-stocked in terms of midfield options but both James McArthur and Yohan Cabaye have been strongly linked with respective moves away from Selhurst Park in recent weeks.
