# Crystal Palace Duo Set For Loan Moves

Two of Crystal Palace’s defenders look set to move out on loan this week, according to [Richard Crawley of the South London Press](https://www.slp.co.uk/article.cfm?id=3269&headline=Crystal%20Palace%20duo%20set%20to%20make%20loan%20exits).

Both Paddy McCarthy and Zeki Fryers will head out when the emergency loan window opens on Wednesday, as it looks unlikely that either will make The Eagles 25-man Premier League squad. That squad will be named today, and Alan Pardew will need to use these players up until January.

Fryers, 22, started his career at Manchester United, and arrived at Palace via Standard Liege and Tottenham Hotspur. He had two short loan spells last season, spending time at both Rotherham United and Ipswich Town, respectively.

Unlike Fryers, Paddy McCarthy is at the tail end of his career. He joined Palace back in 2008, but has now fallen out of favour and spent part of last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers before returning to Selhurst Park after picking up an injury.

Speaking about the duo, Assistant Manager Keith Millen said:

“There are a few lads that need to be playing and a few that are injured. Zeki Fryers, when he gets himself fully fit, he needs to be playing games.

“The manager names his 25-man squad and anyone not in that needs to try and get on loan. Probably Paddy, when fit, needs to go and play some games.”
