# Palace and West Ham chase former Newcastle defender

Crystal Palace have [reportedly](https://www.surreymirror.co.uk/TRANSFER-TALK-Crystal-Palace-West-Ham-vie-ex/story-28406800-detail/story.html) joined the growing list of clubs to take an interest in former Newcastle United, now Inter Milan defender, Davide Santon.

The versatile 24-year-old is capable of playing on both sides of the defence, as well as in the wide midfield roles and with Alan Pardew looking to strengthen his squad depth in January, Santon could be keen to re-unite with his former Newcastle boss.

Santon has failed to live up to his expectations so far in his career, but has shown his quality on occasions for both Newcastle and Inter Milan.

It has been reported that Santon would cost no more than £5 million to lure away from the San Siro, which could tempt Pardew to make a move for the Italian.

However, Santon is also being chased by West Ham boss Slaven Bilic as he looks to bolster his injury-hit Hammers squad.

The versatile defender has made just nine appearances for Inter Milan so far this season and will be looking to get more game-time elsewhere.
