# Palace accused of forcing long-time supporters out of seats

Whilst the news that Crystal Palace are freezing season ticket prices for next season will be greatly received by the majority of fans at Selhurst Park, there are around 200 supporters who will not be so pleased.

As reported by the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3439486/Crystal-Palace-freeze-season-ticket-prices-face-wrath-fans-not-including-seats-directors-box-area.html), the revamping of the corporate facilities at the stadium mean that long time season ticket holders in the Director’s Box area of the Main Stand will be forced to either pay an extra £500 for their ticket and access the corporate facilities or move to another part of the stadium.

Moving may not be the worst thing in the world, but the fact that there are very few general sale season tickets available, added to the fact that the club have yet to offer the 200 affected fans an alternative, means that they’ll miss the early-bird price reductions that are on offer until the end of February.

One of the fans affected, pensioner Ricky Rogers, gave his thoughts to the Mail:

> I’m a big fan of the club, I want them to do well but they’re picking up £100million next year from Sky, it’s going up so much. They’ve got no respect for the supporters like me. I just think this is outrageous. That directors’ box area covers a lot of seats that people like me have sat in for 30 years or longer and they just want us out. That’s basically what it is. Steve Parish, I believe, wants all us old boys out so they can use it for corporate. I’m retired now, I’ve done a lot for the club when they were in need. He’s trying to make the whole of that area completely corporate. He doesn’t want any people just paying for a season ticket. He’s upping the prices to get rid of us. I think Parish has done fantastic for the club, absolutely brilliant, but he’s losing his way a bit on this. It’s wrong..
