# Palace face new injury concerns ahead of Liverpool clash

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has revealed that two of his first choice players are serious injury doubts for Sunday’s clash with Liverpool at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles have enjoyed some recent success against Liverpool – [as we displayed in our look back at previous meetings between the sides](https://readcrystalpalace.com/2016/03/03/crystal-palaces-last-five-wins-against-liverpool/) – but Palace are currently on a run of 11 league games without a win, so confidence may not be as high as it usually is when the Merseysiders come to town.

Furthermore, Pardew’s men might have to face Liverpool without their first choice goalkeeper and first choice striker.

Pardew revealed in his press conference that Connor Wickham is a doubt after he suffered a knock in the 2-2 draw with Sunderland. The striker has scored four goals in his last two games, so it’d be a shame for him to miss out.

If he can’t feature, Pardew will need to decide whether to use Emmanuel Adebayor from the start, or he could use Dwight Gayle who has scored four goals in four games against Liverpool.

The manager also said that Wayne Hennessey is a doubt for the game, which means that backup Alex McCarthy, who has played well against Liverpool in the past, could come into the side.
