# Crystal Palace goalkeeper goes out on loan

Crystal Palace have allowed goalkeeper David Gregory to go out on loan to League Two side Leyton Orient, as reported by the [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35776262).

The 21-year-old will join Orient on an initial 28-day loan, although it appears that he is going there as a backup, rather than a first choice option.

Orient’s number one is Alex Cisak and it’s unlikely that Gregory will take his spot in the starting line-up.

However, their original backup goalkeeper, Charlie Grainger, broke his hand in a recent training session, leaving the O’s short of cover.

Whilst Gregory’s loan is only for an initial 28-days, Grainger’s hand injury is unlikely to heal in such a short timeframe, so there’s every possibility that the Palace academy ‘keeper could stay with Kevin Nolan’s side for a longer spell.

This will be Gregory’s second loan spell away from Palace this season after he has a stint with National League South side Eastbourne Borough earlier in the campaign.
