# Mandanda Prepares to Join Eagles Squad

Steve Mandanda is preparing for life in South London as he today said goodbye to those at his former club Marseille, after taking part in the European Championships.

The 31-year-old took part in France’s home campaign in the Euros, of which his side finished as runners-up after losing to Portugal in the final. Mandanda didn’t take part in the campaign, with Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris playing in between the sticks for the hosts.

Due to his participation in the French squad for the championships, Mandanda has yet to join up with his new teammates after being given time off to relax ahead of the new season, missing the Eagles’ tour of the USA.

beINSports commentator Matt Spiro tweeted the above image on Twitter earlier on this evening (Thursday) of the keeper saying his final farewell to friends and colleagues he has worked around for the past eight years.

In Palace’s pre-season campaign so far, Julian Speroni has been the first name on the teamsheet with last season’s number one goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey also being on an extended break after his participation at the Euros with Wales.
