Reports have today emerged confirming the death of a much loved Crystal Palace steward.
Dave Phillips who worked at both Selhurst Park and the Eagles’ Beckenham training ground passed away on Saturday in South Norwood High Street, where he collapsed in the street around 11am.
The security guard had worked at the club for a large number of years and was a face that was always seen by Palace fans around the ground as well as one that the players and staff at the club knew very well.

Paramedics attempted to resuscitate Mr Phillips who had stopped breathing after he collapsed but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
A number of players have tweeted their condolences including Ryan Inniss and former goalkeeper Chris Kettings.
