# Sam Allardyce open to taking Crystal Palace job

Former England manager Sam Allardyce has apparently told friends that he would consider becoming the Crystal Palace manager if the opportunity arrises.

As reported by [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/sam-allardyce-open-crystal-palace-9367875), Allardyce is keen to get back into management after losing his role with England in acrimonious circumstances.

The fact that this story has appeared in the press will not be an accident, so it’ll either be coming from Allardyce’s camp or from the club itself.

Alan Pardew is under huge pressure after a terrible calendar year and the recent run of six consecutive defeats has only added to his worries.

According to the report, Palace do have contingency plans in place incase they decide to part company with Pardew but they have not made contact with any possible replacements at this time.

Palace’s squad if strong enough to be competing at the higher end of the table and the fact that they are currently in a relegation dogfight shows how bad the problems are.
