Sam Allardyce wants to add some depth to his squad as he looks to fend off relegation and identified Schlupp as a potential signing but it appears they’ll need to go in with another offer.

With Pape Souare out for the foreseeable future with a severe leg injury, Palace are in need of a left-back especially in the short-term with both Martin Kelly and Joel Ward filling in of late.

Last season, Schlupp was a key part of Leicester’s title-winning squad, making 24 appearances in the Premier League split between left-back and left midfield.

However, this term the 24-year-old has been used more sparingly, making nine appearances in all competitions and starting just one [Premier League](https://readpl.com/) game to date.

Schlupp would offer Palace some immediate rest-bite at left-back but they face competition from West Brom for his signature.
