# Crystal Palace closing in on Evra deal

Crystal Palace appear to be closing in on a deal to sign Juventus and former Manchester United defender, Patrice Evra.

[Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/lingering-doubts-transfer-crystal-palace-now-melting-away/) are reporting that Tuttosport state the player’s doubts on the move to the Premier League are slowly easing.

Leaving Italian champions, Juventus for a relegation scrap in the Premier League on paper does not seem like a good career move and Evra was reportedly holding off for other offers to come in.

Evra has been unable to hold down a spot in the Juventus team this season, making just six appearances in the Serie A.

The 35-year-old has impressed during his time in Italy after leaving Manchester United in 2014.

Despite his age, Evra would arrive at Selhurst Park with some pedigree and would be a huge boost for the Premier League strugglers.

Palace are seeking defensive reinforcements as they bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League under Sam Allardyce.
