# Alladryce confirms Schlupp set for spell on the sidelines

Sam Allardyce has confirmed that new signing Jeffrey Schlupp is set for a long spell on the sidelines after being forced off with an injury against Manchester City.

Schlupp was replaced by Zeki Fryers after 75 minutes against Manchester City in the club’s FA Cup 3-0 defeat on Saturday.

The defender joined the club for £12 million from Premier League champions Leicester City earlier in the January transfer window and has not enjoyed the greatest of starts to his Palace career.

On his debut against Everton, the defender suffered a knock in the opposition’s penalty box but the referee refused to stop the play with Schlupp off the pitch.

Seamus Coleman scored the winner for Everton from the resulting counter-attack as Palace continued to struggle in the Premier League.
