# Palace slap huge price tag on Marseille target Cabaye

Marseille are plotting a surprise move for Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye this summer, according to a report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/yohan-cabaye-line-marseille-switch-10129953).

The France international’s future at Selhurst Park is looking to be all the more uncertain after he dropped a few hints regarding a move away from the club at the next opportunity.

> We are still in the mindset of fighting relegation. That is my priority. For the rest, we will see.

> I know Rudi Garcia well, Marseille have a good project. In life, everything is possible. I do not know what the future holds for me. I am open to all.

However, if Marseille are to lure the experienced midfielder back to his homeland, they will need to cough up a quite staggering fee of £16 million, according to the Mirror’s report.

Palace signed Cabaye in the summer of 2015 and although he had a good impact in the first half of his maiden season with the Eagles, he’s failed to really inspire and has been underwhelming for the majority of this season.

At 31-years-old, demanding a fee of £16 million is certainly ambitious on Palace’s part but it’s certainly understandable that they don’t want one of their regular starters leaving in the near future.
