Crystal Palace have a decent record at Anfield and they’ll be looking to extend that when they travel to Merseyside to face Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
Sam Allardyce’s men are on a very good run, one that has led them to 15th place in the league table, meaning their status as a Premier League club is looking likely to be preserved for next season.
Palace will be without the injured Scott Dann and the ineligible Mamadou Sakho but Allardyce still has plenty of options to choose from as he selects his starting XI for the game.
Here’s the side that I think he’s going to pick:
Goalkeeper: Wayne Hennessey
After an up-and-down spell, Hennessey has been in good form recently and he’ll probably need to be again this weekend as Liverpool are the highest scoring team in the league.
Right Back: Joel Ward
After playing so well against Alexis Sanchez, Ward will hope to repeat the trick against Philippe Coutinho.
Centre Back: James Tomkins
James Tomkins is back fit and I think he’ll replace Sakho.
Centre Back: Martin Kelly
Martin Kelly has been getting the nod over Damien Delaney in recent weeks so I can’t see why that would change here.
Left Back: Patrick van Aanholt
Patrick van Aanholt replaced Jeffrey Schlupp as a substitute last weekend and I think he’ll replace him from the start at Anfield.
Midfield: Luka Milivojevic
Luka Milivojevic will sit at the base of the midfield. Roberto Firmino and Coutinho like drifting inside so he’ll need to be on top form to keep them quiet.
Midfield: Yohan Cabaye
Yahoo Cabaye will be hoping to make it three goals in three games at Anfield.
Midfield: Jason Puncheon
Jason Puncheon will play in the advanced midfield role and will look to link midfield and attack.
Right Wing: Wilfried Zaha
Wilfried Zaha has been Palace’s shining light this season and is more than capable of winning this game for the Eagles.
Left Wing: Andros Townsend
Andorra Townsend will be up against fellow England teammate Nathaniel Clyne. If he can get the better of that duel, Palace will be in great shape.
Striker: Christian Benteke
Christian Benteke has a point to prove at Anfield after Jurgen Klopp sold him after just one year.
